for Databases: A Preview
Learn the value of Access skills. Previewing a sample
database, you'll see how related info can be stored in Access yet
pooled as desired. Also experience pulling subsets of data through
queries and reports, plus see how forms facilitate data entry.
This workshop is preparation for database creation and management
in subsequent workshops. 1 1/2 hour workshop
Creating
Tables in Access
Beginnning with basics steps in database design, this workshop
then moves into creating a database and its tables. You'll cover
essentials of table creation:: naming fields, choosing data
types, setting a primary key, and modifying a table. You'll
see how field properties can help in controlling database content
and ease data entry. You'll add records, create a second table,
and establish a relationship between tables. Lastly, you'll
create a simple form using the form wizard. 1 1/2 to
2 hour workshop Prerequisites: Access for Databases:
A Preview or equivalent experience.

Access Filter &
Query Basics
This workshop covers finding records through filters and two common
query types. After creating a simple query based on one table,
you'll set criteria using various comparison operators and wildcards.
You'll also discover the advantages of a query based on multiple
tables as well as parameter queries.

Forms and Reports
This workshop covers the following:
- Using the Form Wizard
for a one-table form
- Creating a main-subform
for two related tables
- Modifying a form's design
view
- Creating calculated
controls in design view

Access for Databases: A Preview; Creating Tables in Access;
and Access Filter & Query Basics or equivalent experience.
